Although implications are generally small, such causes are worth mentioning. Ideally post procedure, we want the patient to limit the amount of facial pressure. Therefore, the use of tight hats, headbands and hair accessories must be avoided. Likewise, when going to sleep on one side of the face, pressure from the pillow will not be ideal. In theory this can displace the toxin from where it has been placed and enable its movement through increased blood flow and pressure. Despite this advice, it has been proven in animal studies that the toxin will be attached and removed from the intracellular space within about 10-20 minutes of placement.
Emphasis can therefore only be put upon volume and velocity of fluid injection as opposed to fluid diffusion. Critically, with the above shown research, avoiding pressure in the injected areas is only applicable for the first 30 minutes after the procedure. Anything after two hours is just precautionary.
