Look at patient in static position, for asymmetry of eyelid line in comparison to iris
Brow ptosis presents with heavier eyelids, but the lid line remains correct
Where there is a fold between the eyelid and forehead, check it for either the brow or lid dropping. If the brow has dropped, you may also notice less lid on the affected side.
Movement: ask patient to raise both brows to see if frontalis is affected unilaterally
Ask patient to follow finger and move upwards, lid ptosis may be more obvious when looking up
