To effectively manage eyelid Ptosis, the following medication can be prescribed: Iopidine (apraclonidine) or oxymetazoline hydrochloride. These are eye drops and can be prescribed by your patient’s optician if you are unable to do this personally. The eyedrops stimulate the smooth muscle in the eye – the tarsal or Müller’s muscle – which responds to sympathetic stimulation. In turn, this should help relieve the symptoms of eyelid ptosis with consistent use.
